Finis Sponsors Riptide Swim Club

We are now a Finis sponsored team. That means that all of our equipment must be Finis swim gear. In return we get team discounts on what we need. Riptide Swim Club team members get a 25% discount when you purchase your items online through Finis. Their website is www.finisinc.com. When you are ready to finalize your order you will be asked for a team code. Our's is riptide25. This will give you the 25% discount.
Perfectly Fit, located in Hammond, will start supplying Finis Swim Gear as well. When you purchase through Mark you get a 20% discount. Perfectly Fit is located on W. University between I-55 and Hwy 51.
Tommy Natal, at Natal's Swim and Tri-zone will also carry Finis products. He has a store in Baton Rouge. Directions are: I-10 - Essen Lane and head South. Cross the rail road tracks, and on the left there will be a strip mall with Izumi Japanese Restaurant. If you hit Perkins Road you passed it.
Natal's has another store in Metairie, located on the corner of W. Napoleon and Transcontinental.

Welcome to the Riptide Swim Club
We have several different practice groups. Coach Judith arranges the groups based on the athlete's swim technique, age, and practice ethics. Each group should arrive at practice with their required gear, mentally and physically prepared.
The groups are as follows:
Stingrays - This group consist of our brand new swim team swimmers. These swimmers must be able to swim the length of the pool without assistance. The primary focus of this group is technique and breathing. Stingrays will practice twice a week for one hour. They will attend limited swim meets.
Stingray Required Gear Training Swim Suit - one piece, Goggles, Fins, Kick board, and Caps
Barracudas - Swimmers who have a clear understanding of the free and back stroke. They also have 75% knowledge of the breast stroke and butterfly. They will continue to work on technique and start to incorporate some endurance. This group will practice 3 times a week for 1.5 hours.They will attend 1 - 2 meets per month.
Barracuda Required Gear Training Swim Suit - one piece, Goggles, Fins, Caps, Kick board, and Pull Bouy
Sharks - Swimmers in this group are legal in all 4 strokes as well as the IM. They will continue to have technique training, as well as endurance and strength. They will practice 5 days a week. One and a half hours on MWF and 1 hour on Tues and Thurs. They will do dryland training on Tuesday and Thursday for 30 minutes after practice. Sharks will attend 1 - 2 meets per month. Swimmers in this group should maintain a 90% attendance rate.
Sharks Required Gear Training Swim Suit - one piece, Goggles, Fins, Caps, Pull Bouy, Paddles for 12 and up, and Drag Suits for 11 and up Junior/Senior Group - This group is made up of junior high and high school students. The junior and high school groups will train for two hours 5 days a week in the afternoon and 2 days in the morning from 6-7. The Jr/Sr Group will do 30 minutes of dryland training Tuesday and Thursday after they swim. These athletes will attend 1-2 meets per month and must maintain a 95% attendance rate.
Junior/Senior Required Gear Training Swim Suit - one piece, Goggles, Z-2 fins, practice caps, Pull Bouy, Paddles, Drag Suits, and Snorkle

*Team Swim Suit should be worn at meets ONLY. Everyone should have a pratice suit for all practices. Those qualifying for the final session at a championship meet may wear fast skin suits.
All swimmers should have their team suit, team cap, goggles, team shirt, and towel at every swim meet. Swimmers should come to meets, mentally and physically prepared.

**Financial Obligation
There is a one time annual fee to join the swim team. The monthly tuition amount will depend on which group your child is placed in. There are additional meet fees and travel surcharges you are responsible for when attending meets.
