Judith Kloepfer graduated from the University of New Orleans with a Bachelor of Science in Education.
She has been involved in swimming for over 30 years. In that time she has taught swimmers from 6 months to 92 years old. She was an aquatic director at different health clubs around New Orleans and the Northshore area. She has coached technique to swimmers for the past 20 years.
Judith is also a Nationally Certified Referee with United States Swimming. She has officiated everything from summer league meets and Special Olympics to USS Meets, State Championship meets and Sectional meets. Coach Judith is also a member of the American Swim Coaches Association.
Coach Judith loves working with the swimmers. She gets real excited any time a swimmer improves. Whether it is dropping that tenth of a second at a meet or learning how to breathe properly at practice; it is the little things that count in the long run. Her biggest challenge as a coach is to teach the kids how to concentrate while they are swimming. Swimming has so many technical aspects to it. She wants the kids to keep their brains working even when they are tired. If a swimmer can concentrate during his workouts he can put the same effort into his/her school work and become a better student.
In her spare time, Judith is an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist at Most Holy Trinity Church, and a coordinator at the Adoration Chapel at Our Lady of the Lake Church. Most important, she is the mother of 2 wonderful girls, Teresa and Lauren. Both were year round swimmers with the Hurricane Swim Club.
Favorite motto: No excuses; only results
Kids favorite expressions Coach Judith uses during practice: "Your pain is my gain"; "Today for practice we will have pain and torture"; "You are brilliant, turn your brains on"
Coach Judith's ultimate goal for each swimmer is to help them learn responsibility, time management, the spirit of competition, to swim to his/her potential, and most of all, the self confidence to achieve any goal they desire.
